Royal Mail Fleet Managing FA Vase winner Wrinkle has a word with Pitchside

He played at Wembley in 1992 – his favourite player is Matt Le Tissier – he listens to Wave 105 – and the last holiday he had was in Hong Kong – so what else do we know about former Wimborne Town no nonsense full back Nicky Bridle?
Bridle has now hung his boots up but in his day he was without doubt one of the best full backs in the Wessex League and indeed played football at a higher level with both Bashley and Dorchester Town.
At a recent Wimborne match, where he can still be found these days, watching rather than playing, Pitchside caught up with the uncompromising 1992 FA Vase winning defender and decided to ask him a few questions, which went something like:

How long have you known your oldest friend? Probably Bootsy (Martin Beardsley) or Dobs, who I’ve known since I was about three or four

Previous clubs? Wimborne, Poole, Bashley and Dorchester
Favourite pro team and why? Southampton. My old man was a supporter so I became one
Favourite pro player and why? Matt Le Tissier because he was just a great ball player
Best ground you’ve played on? Wembley in 1992 with Wimborne
Best player you’ve played with? Trevor Finnigan at Wimborne
Best manager you’ve played under? Billy Elliott when I was a kid at Wimborne
Manager you’d like to have played under? I would have to say Kevin Keegan. He was good when he was down at Saints
How many brothers and sisters do you have? Two brothers and two sisters
Does your wife like football or puts up with it? She likes it and supports Man United, so she knows nothing about it!
Name your two England strikers? Peter Crouch and Wayne Rooney

Name four people you would never invite round to dinner? Well - Tom (Killick) and Taff (Richardson) would have to be two of them! I couldn’t trust them, they’d be sick everywhere! The other two would be George W Bush and Margaret Thatcher.
Name four people you would love to invite to dinner? Matt Le Tissier, Whitney Houston, Alan Sugar because I think he’s good entertainment and the Australian drag comedian Dame Edna Everidge.
