Louis Savage - Fareham Town

Fareham Town emerged one of only three sides that were unbeaten in the month of October.

Poole Town and VT FC were the other two outfits that didn’t experience defeat in this month but, they only played three and four games respectively.

For Fareham, it was a month where they enjoyed their trips away from Cams Alders.

They drew their two games played at home but on their travels, they achieved four victories out of four matches.

The two draws at home were ironically against league leaders Winchester City in a thrilling 3-3 encounter and basement boys Portland United in a 1-1 stalemate.

The six goals shared with the title favourites was an excellent result for Fareham, whereas the only blip in October has to be handing Portland their first point of the season.

Wins at Alton Town (3-1), Lymington Town (3-0), Hamble ASSC (5-1) and Moneyfields (2-0) though, made for good reading for Fareham followers.

Another side that had an excellent October was Hamworthy United. Alex Pike guided his troops to six wins, one draw and only one defeat.

The wins included a very impressive 2-1 win at high-flying Thatcham Town.

Even the draw and defeat were hardly a disgrace, given it was a goalless affair against a very strong Gosport Borough and a 3-1 reverse on their travels to goal-hungry Andover.

The award for Manager of the Month for October 2005 however, swayed in the favour of Fareham Town boss Louis Savage. Well done for remaining unbeaten.
